ERS hires new Head of Third Party Damage Claims
SPECIALIST motor insurer ERS has appointed Gary Barker as Head of Third Party Damage Claims.
Joining this week, Gary will be based in London and will report into Claims Director Peter Smith.
Gary was founder and Managing Director of specialist credit hire and repair organisation Rapid Vehicle Management. Prior to that, he established Prospect Legal, the claims management function for Haven Insurance. Earlier Gary ran the Uninsured Loss Recovery function for RBS Insurance, having originally started his career in the British Army where he achieved the rank of Captain.
Gary said: “I am delighted to be joining ERS at this exciting stage of its transformation and am looking forward to helping the company reach its 90% COR target.”
Peter Smith said: “Gary is another example of the very high quality of candidate that ERS is now attracting. He brings with him a wealth of experience from different sides of the market, which will drive our progressive approach to controlling third party claim costs.”
Gary’s appointment follows two recent hires in Underwriting. Ian Barker joins the Commercial Team as Underwriting Manager from UK General while ERS’ new Motorcycle Portfolio Underwriting Manager Gareth Barrett was previously Development Underwriting Manager at AXA Commercial Lines.
