SPECIALIST motor insurer ERS is pleased to announce that Tom Donachie has been promoted to Head of Bespoke with effect from the 20th July.
Tom currently holds the role of Portfolio Underwriting Manager in Motor Fleet, having joined ERS from NIG 18 months ago. Tom worked at NIG for 8 years, rising through the ranks from Assistant Underwriter to Head Office Motor Underwriter.
Reporting into Active Underwriter Mark Bacon, Tom will lead a team of 12. Mark said: “Our Bespoke book of business, which includes non-standard motor and our specialist and classic vehicle teams, is at the heart of our strategy and is a key area of business growth.
“As part of our transformation programme, we have built an extremely strong team within Bespoke. I am confident that Tom is the right choice to lead and work with that team to establish ERS as a leading player in this space.”
Tom added: “Since joining in April 2014, ERS has gone from strength to strength: delivering an underwriting profit for the first time in five years; embedding a new IT platform and undertaking a company restructure to ensure we can stay closer to our brokers and provide the underwriting know-how to assist with specialist motor risks.
“It is fantastic to work in an environment that nurtures talent and offers meaningful career progression, and I look forward to getting started in my new role.”
