National Air Ambulance Week 2017

It’s almost a year since we selected the London’s Air Ambulance and Wales Air Ambulance as our nominated charity partners. In that time we have raised almost £6,000 thanks to the efforts of ERS colleagues and their supporters through activities from the gruelling Spartan race to pub quizzes and anything in between.

And the next few weeks will see some bumper activities as Team ERS ups the ante to raise more funds for these important charities who do so much to protect those living and working in and around London and Wales.

On Saturday 19th August, John Cridland and Helen Ryan from our Swansea team are competing in the gruelling swim-run event that is the Breca Gower. After a 37km run around Gower’s spectacular, but challenging costal path, they will complete a 5km open water swim. They are looking to raise £500 for the Wales Air Ambulance. To help them reach their target you can donate here.

On the 14th – 16th September London’s Air Ambulance are hosting their annual Helipad Abseil. This year Team ERS consists of a team of seven of our fearless volunteers (pictured below) to take on this challenge. It’s not for the faint hearted as the team abseil from the highest rooftop helipad in Europe and make the 17-floor descent to the streets of Whitechapel. If this doesn’t deserve a sponsor we’re not sure what does so please do give whatever you can by visiting their JustGiving page.

For those who prefer to keep their feet firmly on the ground then take inspiration from our team completing the Ragnar Race on the 23rd – 24th September. The Ragnar is relay-style race where a team of 10 will undertake a 170 mile race. Starting in Maidstone, Kent they will run along the south east coast through seaside towns, rolling fields, and of course the most famous of white cliffs known to man. After passing through the picturesque towns of Faversham, Ramsgate, Dover, Folkestone, Rye, and Hastings, the team will finish their journey in the city of Brighton & Hove. This is a joint effort with runners from ERS offices in London and Swansea (the Swansea half of which is pictured with a WAA representative below) coming together to raise money for our charity partners. To support Team ERS in the Ragnar relay please visit their donation page here,

Without the support of our employees as well as sponsors both inside and outside our business, we couldn't raise the money to keep these lifesaving helicopters in the sky in and around the areas that we live and work. We’re proud of what we have achieved in the last year and look forward, with the help of our supporters, to doing more to help maintain the vital work of these charities in London and Wales.
