Our car loving Senior Enthusiast Underwriter, Alan Bradbury, is off to sunny Mykonos today for the launch of this year’s Gumball 3000 for a busy registration day tomorrow. Gumballers will be travelling through a further 8 countries, crossing the finishing line in Ibiza!
In celebration of Gumball’s 21st birthday before he left, he’s treated us to his top 5 Gumball music tacks. Although he did say, who would need any music when you’ve got the amazing soundtrack produced by gumball cars – the deep, angry growl of the V8, the high-pitched scream of a V10 or a spine-tingling roar of a v12… music to the ears.
- ‘On Days Like These’ (Matt Monro) - music from the beginning of the original 1969 Italian Job film. Beautiful, winding mountains roads…. Lamborghini Muira.… just classy.
- ‘Wow’ (Post Malone) - Apart from being the first word I said when I saw the Gumball 3000 line up in London last year, it’s a super-cool track that has the right vibe for Gumball…. plus, it mentions the G-Wagon Mercedes, of which there’s a few of on this year’s event!
- ‘Miami to Ibiza’ (Swedish House Mafia) - Ok, so not 100% accurate for this year’s rally (Mykonos to Ibiza), but a cracking tune for the final Ibiza party.
- ‘More Than A Feeling’ (Boston) - Old track from 1976, but still a great driving song for cruising the Med with the roof down
- ‘Turn Down For What’ (DJ Snake) - Massive tune played at the Gumball launch party in Riga, Latvia – would sound awesome played loud at the hotel pool party.
To all the Gumball Rally goers out there – ENJOY.
And those not going, we hope you like Alan’s recommended driving tracks.
