2018 has been hailed as a golden year for television, with shows like Bodyguard, This Country, Luther and Killing Eve bringing the country to a halt during each instalment. Now the film awards season has climaxed with the Oscars, the TV industry is turning its attention to Britain’s glitziest do – the BAFTA Television Awards 2019.
Amongst the staggering 26 categories, Killing Eve and A Very English Scandal have led the charge for BAFTAs, Killing Eve clocking up a whopping 14 nominations. Here at ERS HQ however, we’re gunning for Bodyguard in its 3 categories; while pioneering in having PTSD-suffering army vet Richard Madden protect Keeley Hawes’ home secretary, the parade of luxury armoured vehicles was also worth a watch! Changing gear, A Very English Scandal allowed for some nostalgia, viewers able to enjoy the classic 60s and 70s motors which starred alongside Hugh Grant and Ben Whishaw.
The award for Best dedicated underwriting team goes to…
While the leading men and women of the small screen will be jostling for attention on the red carpet this weekend, it is also time for our dedicated ERS Prestige Team to take their moment in the limelight. Whether TV presenters like BAFTA host and Lexus-loving Graham Norton, or actors like proud Prius owner Sandra Oh, every day, the ERS Prestige: Sports & Entertainment team manually underwrite bespoke policies for the entertainment industry’s high profile drivers.
Winners at BAFTA, losers behind the wheel
Faceless, algorithm-driven price comparison sites can’t possibly account for the bespoke circumstances of each individual when crafting their quotes, most entertainment professionals then losing out when it comes to motor insurance. ERS Product Manager for Prestige, Annie Ward, commented, “At ERS we know how to deliver the right cover for our high-profile entertainment clients. The risk profiles for these individuals are incredibly varied, not least as some clients are car enthusiasts building vehicle collections, while other household names are busy working parents who need sensible family cars when they’re not sizzling on camera. By manually underwriting every policy we can ensure our clients are fully covered and our policy meets their needs – leaving them to concentrate on continuing to make us great TV!”
Turn on, tune in
ERS’ Prestige service for entertainment professionals can help you deliver the best possible quote for your clients; and given we aim to turn quotes around within 4 hours, you’ll only have time to get through half of that BAFTA award-winning boxset!
