Specialist motor insurer, ERS has today announced the extension of their A+ rated cover for European drivers* until the end of the year in response to the Governments recent announcement to issue temporary visas to support the current HGV driver shortage.
ERS Active Underwriter, Martin Hall commented: “The challenges facing UK hauliers have become a national talking point, disrupting communities and households across the country with food, supplies and more recently fuel shortages due to the lack of HGV drivers.”
“Our Commercial underwriting team have been examining every opportunity to ease the burden on haulage firms and ensure brokers can service their customers and clients, and with the recent news from the UK Government, we are happy to widen our Transportation product appetite to cover European drivers that are in full time employment (non-agency) with a haulage company.
We have enabled the changes to our appetite on ERS eTrade, so brokers can make changes online to support their customers and help kick-start the return to normality.”
